Abstract

Documentary portrait is a documentary that contains a representation of the life experience story of a famous person or a member of ordinary society, their life history is considered great, interesting, unique, or depressing. Portrait forms generally relate to aspects of human interest, while the content speech may be criticism, respect, or sympathy. In this documentary the author discusses the art of Indonesian tradition, which is only a few people know about it. Many people who forgot the richness of Indonesian culture due to lack of media, containers, and artists to preserve it. Episode of puppet tavip as  example of puppet conservation with the utilization using plastic waste tells of a unique puppet made from Plastic Waste from Delima Endah, Baleendah, Bandung, West Java. This wayang was popularized by a puppeteer named Muhammad Tavip. These wayang creations depart from Tavip's concern for the low interest of youth towards traditional puppets. Therefore, Tavip took children from early childhood to adolescence to join the art of this Tavip puppet. Gradually, those who are educated are expected to know and finally love the traditional art and culture itself.
