Abstract




This film tells the story of an online news portal that violates the journalistic code of ethics. This research adopts John Fiske's semiotic theory and qualitative research methods. The formulation of the problem of this research is how the form of violation of the journalistic code of ethics is in the film "You call it passion". The purpose of this study is to explain the reality of violations of the journalistic code of ethics. Data was collected through observation and literature study. The research data adopts John Fiske's semiotics, based on the level of reality with codes of appearance, clothing, expressions, gestures, conversation, voice and text. With a research focus on behavioral scenes that show a violation of the journalistic code of ethics. The film you call passion is a genre of drama and raving. This study aims to find out how violations of the journalistic code of ethics are represented through the film you call it passion. The results of this study indicate that there is a violation of the journalistic code of ethics contained in this film, namely regarding news/information that has been engineered previously such as manipulating data, receiving indirectly and verifying unconfirmed data. This film is able to describe the struggle, in terms of determination and unyielding in revealing the truth and facts.
