PEMBERITAAN POTENSI TSUNAMI 20 METER DAN GEMPA MEGATHRUST PADA KOMPAS.COM DAN CNN INDONESIA.COM EDISI 25-30 SEPTEMBER 2020 (ANALISIS FRAMING MODEL ZHONDANG PAN DAN GERALD M KOSICKI)

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the analysis of the news framing of the 20- meter tsunami potential and megathrust earthquake in the media kompas.com and cnnindonesia.com editions of 25-30 September 2020. The formulation of this research is how kompas.com and cnnindonesia.com framed the news of a 20-meter tsunami potential. and the megathurst earthquake? The theory used is Framing Analysis. Research use constructivism paradigm and qualitative approach. The method used is Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki Framing Model Analysis. The subjects in this study were the media portals kompas.com and cnnindonesia.com. Meanwhile, the object of this research is news text regarding the news of a 20-meter tsunami potential and a megathrust earthquake on kompas.com and cnnindonesia.com media. Data collection was obtained through observation of primary data by reading news texts about 20 meters tsunami potential and megathrust earthquakes. The data was obtained through several media books, ebooks, journals, and portals. The results showed that kompas.com framed news that led to the community being given a suggestion to mitigate against the worst possibility. Researchers and the public were asked to better understand the existing news so that there was no longer between the community and the audience, in this way kompas.com showed the impression positive. Cnnindonesia.com framed the image leading to positive and negative impressions. The positive impression given by cnninonesia.com about an explanation as well as an understanding of what steps to take if a tsunami really occurs 20 meters from. Meanwhile, the negative impression about the detection equipment provided by BMKG for each region has not functioned properly until the equipment malfunctions and is still being questioned by BPBD Banten. This can lead readers to have a negative opinion for BMKG.
