Abstract
The main problem of this research is how the role of fathers in educating children in the film "A Man Called Ahok" represents the role of fathers in educating children. The purpose of this study was to determine the representation of the role of Kim Nam's father in educating children contained in the film "A Man Called Ahok". This study uses a qualitative approach, with a constructivism paradigm. The subject in this study was the film "A Man Called Ahok", and the object of the research was the representation of the role of fathers in educating children. The validity of the data used by researchers is time triangulation. With the focus of research related to the sign that presents the role of fathers in educating children in the film "A Man Called Ahok". Data collection is obtained through observation by directly observing by seeing the film "A Man Called Ahok" repeatedly. Data analysis is based on Charles Sanders Peirce's theory, which is the triangle meaning (Triangle Meaning). Sign, Object, and Interpretant. The conclusion of this research is, in the film "A Man Called Ahok" researchers found six scenes that represent the role of fathers in educating children, namely maintaining brotherhood, help helping, teaching honesty, bequeathing mining knowledge to Ahok, educating children so as not to be a thief, and give motivation to children. The six scenes contain the values of the role of fathers in educating children who can be emulated by the audience.
