REPRESENTASI PERJUANGAN ISTRI TENTARA DALAM FILM JELITA SEJUBA MENCINTAI KESATRIA NEGARA (Analisis Semiotika John Fiske)

Abstract

The focus of this research is to discuss the representation of the struggle of the wife of an army in the Jelita Sejuba Mencintai Kesatria Negara and want to explore the motives contained in the film. This film is the first film in Indonesia with a military theme containing the twists and turns of the life story of the wife of a TNI AD on the coast of Natuna Island. The approach or type of this research is qualitative research. The method used in this study is John Fiske's semiotics which consists of the level of reality, level of representation, and level of ideology. The results of this study indicate that in this film there is a struggle of a soldier's wife found in the scene when the pregnancy of her first child had to be abandoned by her husband on duty for many years, then gave birth accompanied by his mother, and saw the growth and development of her own child without the help of her husband beside her until the worst thing was left forever due to fall off duty. This representation of the struggle of the soldier's wife finds meaning as a soldier's wife must always look strong, patient, gentle and tough in dealing with the twists and turns of life.
