Abstract

documentary work is a type of film that is based on the world and its people, which describes everything as it really is or tells about someone's figure correctly or objectively. In this documentary television program, the designer discussed a person who was innovative about named Darmin breeder farmers, Darmin, a small farmer with a different background  elementary school background than farmers in general, if farmers usually buy seeds from seed companies or the government, Darmin actually creates own seeds that he planted in his fields. Darmin's seed was born from a plant breeding process. Plant breeding is a combination of science, technology and art to improve plant genotypes to be more beneficial to humans. Through breeding, Darmin plants cross two rice which have their respective advantages to obtain superior new rice varieties. Indramayu Girl Rice is the result of the crossing of the seeds of Ciherang with Pandanwangi, while the ideal young man is the result of crossing the seeds of Ciherang with kebo. The yield of seed crossing produces grain reaching 11 tons in 1 hectare. If rice generally only produces 200 grains in one stalk, however, each Indramayu Youth and Girl rice paddy produces 250 to 300 grains of rice, with the length of panicle reaching 30cm, so that Indramayu Youth and Girl Rice can produce 11 tons of grain in one hectare . This documentary consists of 3 stages, the beginning, the middle stage and the concatenation which is put together with a duration of 24 minutes. Each stage is presented directly by the resource person along with image documentation. In the process of creating this work, the designer chooses to take on the role of director. This documentary work focuses on the strength of the informant's statement. With the power of the concept of the creator of the work, it presents different documentary works, with the hope that the audience who sees entertaining and gets information and education.
