Abstract

The background of this research is to find out and explain the framing of Cnnindonesia.com and Republika.co.id regarding the announcement of the election of Ma'ruf Amin as the vice-presidential candidate Joko Widodo. This study uses the Robert N.Entman Framing analysis by using four related elements in reporting related to the election of Ma'ruf Amin as Joko Widodo's running mate, namely Define Problem in Cnnindonesia.com and Republika.co.id reporting as both discussing the election of Ma'ruf Amin as running mate for Joko Widodo, the Diagnosis Cause in this report is both making Ma'ruf Amin as the actor or cause in the reporting and Joko Widodo is the person who determines political choices. Make Moral Judgetment in the news on Cnnindonesia.com and Republika.co.id both reported that Ma'ruf Amin was the right figure as Joko Widodo's running mate because Ma'ruf Amin was an experienced in government and religious. Treatment Recommendation in this report Cnnindonesia.com and Republika.co.id both reported Ma'ruf Amin the right choice according to Yusuf Martak in Cnnidonesia.com media and Ubedilah Badrun in Republika.co.id media. This research uses descriptive qualitative, the paradigm used is constructionvism, on this issue is a political problem. The conclusion of this research is Cnnindonesia.com and Republika.co.id are both frame the reporting of the election of Ma'ruf Amin, highlighting the meaning of the issues discussed and the words used contain positive and political elements. The difference is the sources, news content, Cnnindonesia.com discusses the concurrent position of Ma'ruf Amin, while Republika.co.id discusses the figure of Mahfud MD who is staying digadang will accompany Joko Widodo and Cnnindonesia.com superior from Republika.co.id in terms of the speed of uploading the news of the declaration of the election of Ma'ruf Amin.
