Abstract

Hoaks news or hoax according to the big Indonesian dictionary (KBBI) is currently rife in the various media. Both the print media and online media. News of the sustainability of the hoax is increasingly out of control and a serious discussion in Indonesia that is interesting at this time is the news about the taking of Ratna Sarumpaet when spreading false news. The purpose of this study was to determine the framing of the arrest of Ratna Sarumpaet in the case of false news transfer on online media detik.com and kompas.com. Robert N. Entman where Entman sees framing in two large dimensions, namely the selection of sources and complementing or highlighting specific aspects of the dispute or issue itself. The subject of this research is detik.com online media and kompas.com with news text research objects from both media. Data obtained by researchers through library research, observation and documentation from various media. The results of this research that have been published by researchers show detik.com and kompas.com related to the arrest related to the arrest of Ratna Sarumpaet when spreading false news from 4-5 October 2018 with different views. Media detik.com frame the news into the realm of law by publishing Ratna Sarumpaet as the main actor through Kompas.com
