Kekuatan Statement Pada Produksi Dokumenter “Toleransi Untuk Cinta”

Abstract

Documentary film is a type of film based on the world and its people, that describe everything as it is or tell a historical event correctly or objectively. In this documentary film, the designer discussed a tolerance attitude in Kampung Sawah, Bekasi. This attitude of tolerance has become a legacy from the past. Until now the people of Kampung Sawah are still trying to maintain this tolerance attitude. The proximity of the worship place building between the church and the mosque became a symbol of harmony and tolerance in Kampung Sawah. In addition, the residents of Kampung Sawah also have a togetherness event that aims to strengthen harmony between the people as well as to maintain tolerance in Kampung Sawah. One of them is "Ngeriung Bareng", this event gathers a number of religious leaders, community leaders, and state apparatus to discuss Kampung Sawah and the harmony of its citizens. Regarding intermarriages is also one of the unique things in Kampung Sawah. Since a long time ago many married people of different religions still get along well with each other up until now.Today, the people of Kampung Sawah have lived peacefully with each other, and have lived in harmony without any conflict in the name of religion. This documentary consists of three segments which are made into one with a duration of 20 minutes. Each segment has a narrative and is presented directly by the resource person along with image documentation. In the process of creating this work, the designer chooses to take on the role of producer. A producer holds the responsibility to create and determine ideas and take full responsibility at all stages of production. This documentary focuses on the statement of the resource person, regarding tolerance and culture in Kampung Sawah. With the power of concept, the designer presents a documentary film that is different from the expectations of the audience who see comfort and get information and education.
