Abstract

The research aims to find out how the role of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission in monitoring the Neutrality of news content in 2019 Presidential election on Television. The research methods used descriptive analysis with qualitative approach. The problem of this research is How the role of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission in monitoring the Neutrality of News Content in 2019 Presidential election on television. The subject is informant who competent on it, and the object is the role of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission in monitoring Neutrality on television. The technique of collected data used interview, observation, and documentation. This research using the Role Theory,with constructivism paradigm. The result of this research is Indonesian Broadcasting Commission has a role in accordance with his capacity as regulators broadcaster which in orders by the constitution. Indonesia Broadcasting Commission in the face of the election in 2019, cooperate with the other institutions like KPU, BAWASLU, and also Dewan Pers. In the process of monitoring the success of Indonesia Broadcasting Commission in minimize the violations as evidenced by the decrease in the number of violations of media neutrality in the 2019 presidential election. This situation is better than the presidential election of 2014. It is proving that the role of Indonesia Broadcasting Commission is very important, to controlling the broadcasting media that is television and radio, So that they will continues to give the good broadcast programs, also to guarantee that there is no misuse of interests related to the frequency of public.
