Abstract

The study aims to determine the Sign, Object and Interpretant regarding the journalistic meaning of the film "Truth". The proposed research question is how is journalistic meaning in the movie "Truth"? How does a journalist find, process, publish, and account for the results of the news that has been produced? This method of research is qualitative using the semiotic study of Charles Sanders Peirce. The subject of his research is the researcher himself using the analysis method. Data is obtained through literature study and documentation of various media, both print and online. The results showed that the journalistic meaning in the film Truth is represented by the signs derived from each scene as well as the dialogue listed on the film. Then the object is taken from a piece of image that shows the activity of a journalist in finding, processing, and publishing the news. And interpreted in the form of meaning that becoming a journalist should be able to answer the results of the news that it is in order to maintain the quality and quality of the news. Every profession certainly has its advantages and weaknesses. So did the journalist profession. Not everyone can easily become a journalist. Only people who already have special abilities in this field can become tough journalists. It would be better if he was a man who did have a fairly high-level curiosity, as well as mentally strong enough to confront all the cast in this profession. The advice that can be given is expected to be able to add a study of the performance of a journalist in order to build and address the subject of dilematics and the hope for a rewarding academic review of future journalists.
