Abstract

 


This study discusses the courage of journalists in the Jakarta Undercover film (analysis of semiotic charles sanders peirce). Jakarta Undercover film is a film that has positive meanings for the audience who watch it. Where it looks Courage and the spirit of Pras in looking for news about Jakarta's life at night that is not widely known by people, where there are drug trafficking and sex parties. In the research method, the authors use the method of semiotic analysis, because semiotics is a science or method of analysis to examine the signs. This study uses Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotic Theory which includes Sign, Object, Interpretant. The results of the study show that Sign in this film is the courage of Pras as a Journalist to disguise into a night club in making news about the dark side of Jakarta night which includes drug trafficking and free sex. The object in this film is pictures of activities carried out by Pras in the process of finding information about sex parties and also drug trafficking. Seen in the results of the study, researchers found an overview of the work of Journalists in looking for news. Interpretant in Jakarta Undercover film is the way researchers interpret the courage of journalists in searching for news about drug trafficking and also sex parties in the film. Courage of journalists becomes a symbol of how journalists must be very brave in looking for news to reveal a big case.
