Abstract
The aim of this final project creation is to socialize the negative effects of gadgets on children's health and how parents can guide their children to be able to use gadgets properly and correctly by using animation as a medium. At present, technology is developing very rapidly, one of the products of technology that have been circulating and recognized by the public are gadgets, especially smartphones. The current development of smartphone technology has become a challenge for parents to care for their children, because gadgets (smartphones) have bad impacts on children's health that needs to be socialized to parents, so parents can be aware and understand these adverse effects. Data are collected through observation, interviews with psychologists, doctors, and teachers who are the speakers. Data is also obtained through library studies, search results of previous studies, news articles, and other supporting information that can be used as the basis of this final project creation, both in print and online medias. The conclusion of this final project is that by watching this explainer video, the target audience will understand the impact of gadgets on children and ways to guide children to avoid the adverse effects and with this explainer video, the author hopes to increase parental awareness of the adverse effects of gadgets, so that parents become more careful and always accompany children when they are using gadgets. Results in this study; First, the simple animation becomes the basis of audience’s understanding of the content, especially parents. Second, the role of audio or voice narrative is something that should be considered so that the content may be understood by listeners.
