Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to analyze the story of the struggle of transvestite life in the documentary eyelashes works by Tonny Trimarsanto. The principle of life struggle is real action. Often described by doing an action or taking action to confront or change a condition. The struggle will side with someone or something that is deemed important or dear, which in the sense of aspect of struggle in this context is the soul, action or real action, and the spirit shown by the characters in this film, and the values the struggle made by transgender people in the main spotlight. The existing normativity recognizes only the two sexes of men, men and women and no third gender terms. However, in the practical realm, transgender or transvestite is a living reality in society although it is generally a social pathology. The transvestites are part of a social society that can not be excluded simply from its existence. Because of the existence of it has not gained recognition by the wider community, the transvestites often get discriminatory treatments, and even to the point of inhumanity. The method used is the semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce. Eyed films present behavior, attitudes or acts of harassment and rejection. The construction of this action or rejection attitude is seen in the early part of the story in the film, in terms of film scenes and dialogue shown by the director Tonny Trimarsanto.
