VISUALISASI FILM DOKUMENTER POTRET PERGESERAN FUNGSI DAN PENGGUNAAN ONDEL-ONDEL BETAWI

Abstract

“At the beginning of its emergence, the art of Ondel-Ondel Betawi used as a form of expression of the Betawi people to their beliefs that Ondel-Ondel as a form of personification of their ancestors that used on certain occasions or rituals and considered capable of driving out the demons and also giving a salvation. But nowadays, the circumstance of the Big Doll is changed over its function as the times progress so its sanctity is not highlighted anymore but it is turned into performing art which combined with musical accompaniment of Betawi called Tanjidor. Therefore, it makes the government of DKI Jakarta issues the Reguliatons of Governoor No. 11 in 2017 about the establishment of Ondel-Ondel as one of eight Betawi culture icons in the capital city of Jakarta. But recently, we can see there is a new phenomenon that Ondel-Ondel is used as thing that can make money by some people, it brings up the pros and cons from various circles.  The location of documentary making took place in Meruya, National Monument, and Kemayoran which are administratively located in province of DKI Jakarta. This documentary creation gives description about cultural shift phenomenon of Ondel-Ondel and the responses of society, humanist, even artist to the phenomenon.”
