REPRESENTASI POLISI YANG BERTANGGUNG JAWAB DALAM MENANGKAP PELAKU KRIMINAL PADA FILM KOREA CATCH ME (Analisis Semiotika Ferdinand De Saussure)

This study aims to find out the representation of police for responsibility in arresting criminals on Korean movie, entitled Catch Me. This is a qualitative research method with analysis of semiotics Ferdinand de Saussure. This study begins from September until December 2016. The data is description about the main character, named Lee Ho Tae, a police who able to track a criminal. And then the data was analyzed using semiotics Ferdinand de Saussure, called signification. Signification is relation between signifier and signified. The signifier in this study are several scenes from ‘Catch Me’, and signified by analyze it. The result showed that the representation of police for responsibility in arresting criminals on Korean movie, entitled Catch Me is obtained from the gestures and language which is played by polices in the film, Lee Ho Tae, Detective Kim, Detective Oh, and Chief Detective. It is found in scenes in the film as an attempt by police to arrest criminals, arrest planning, ambush and interrogate the criminals. The polices work as a team so can get the criminals, the work begins from searching and obtaining evidences to analysis of a crime case, and then the polices trying to perform an ambush by being divided into several teams.
