PEMBINGKAIAN BERITA AKSI DAMAI 411 DI VIVA.CO.ID

(Analisis Framing Robert M. Entman pada Viva.co.id Edisi 4 November 2016)

Abstract

The Research was purposed to find the framing of peaceful action on Viva.co.id A question that the researcher asks is, “How is the framing of peaceful action 411 on Viva.co.id?”. The research approach used analysis framing by Robert M. Entman with two dimensions: (Selection of issues and Aspect projection) and four framing elements (define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement and treatment recommendation). The research subject was from online media Viva.co.id. The research subject from Viva.co.id online media was the issue about verdict court conjecture blasphemy by Basuki Tjahjaa Purnama’s on November 4th, 2016. The data collections are obtained from literature review and texts from the official site of Viva.co.id as the main source.The research result showed that Viva.co.id reconstructed an issue telling that side with demonstrator and cornering Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok in news. Theoretical suggestion is to suggest other researchers to analyze an issue by using text analysis with similar research model and they can add other media in order to be able to find a framing comparison from those media. Practical suggestion for Kompas.com is that they are expected to be neutral, not partial to a certain side and more concerned to the need of public, more independent and more objective in reporting an issue.
