Abstract
The making this paper aims to explain how animation can be use as educational media in order to become a tool for teach and learn reading activities in Patra V kindergarten. According to surveys and interviews that has been by creator in patra v kindergarten, reading, writing, and counting has higher difficulty. Creator thought of a solution to help the teaching and learning activities through creators animation. The Animation was made so teachers still can interacts and guides students by providing discussion materials such as object, colors, and sounds in the animation. Overall, this animation invite the audiences (children) to follow the character activities and sing "Pepaya Cha Cha Cha". The song contains many fruit names that can be used as learning themes to read, for example when the main character sing "papaya, banana, mango, guava" It will appear the names along with the fruit pictures "papaya, banana, mango, guava". While singing, teachers can also bring other themed fruit-props and word to repeat the lesson from the animation.. In the design of this animated work the creator is based on the theory of communication, the theory of visual communication and refers to animation, as well as creators inspired by several references such as animasi Lagu abc by Lagu Anak Indonesia Balita, Menghafal Huruf Latin Bersama Diva by Kastari Sentra Media and the animation of MMTC students Earlier “Skripsi Didu” by Muhammad Tama Yodha Akbar. It can be concluded that this animation work was created with the aim of helping the learning activities of reading in the patra V kindergarten by discussing the fruit and being guided by the characters in the animation.
