Abstract




Every mass media has a frame or frame that is used in reporting an event. This frame depends on the interests of the media which ultimately shows the framing of a news contained in the media. Then the purpose of this study is to find out how the framing of news on the electability news of Jokowi and Prabowo ahead of the 2019 presidential election in the period April 1 to April 16, 2019. The analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm supported by Robert framing analysis research methods. N. Entman. The news was analyzed using an analysis of 4 Robert N. Entman framing concepts, namely Define Problems, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgment, and Tratment Recommendations. The subject of this research is online media namely Merdeka.com and Tribunnews.com. While the object of this study is the electability news text of Jokowi and Prabowo ahead of the 2019 presidential election voting. Based on the results of the analysis of Robert N. Entman's framing of Jokowi and Prabowo electability reporting ahead of the 2019 election election on the Merdeka.com media and Tribunnews.com identifies the news of Jokowi and Prabowo electability into the realm of politics. Both online media both looked at this issue to the electability of Jokowi and Prabowo ahead of the 2019 presidential election. The conclusions of the two media were in framing news related to Jokowi and Prabowo's electability by highlighting issues such as Merdeka.com with the phrase "the survey was conducted by bringing directly the people who spread in Indonesia", and Tribunnews.com with the phrase" the numbers contained in the survey results can change until the voting day arrives".
